NUTRITION COMMITTEE
We oversee operations for the daily snack program, including program design, accounting, and fundraising. Team members may also handle other food-related initiatives, such as the hot lunch program.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
We plan, organize, and execute multiple fundraising events during the school year, and the profits are used for budget requests during the following school year. Typical fundraising events include (but are not limited to): dance-a-thon, bake sales, FunFest, and a 50/50 raffle.

COMMUNITY COMMITTEE
Plans, organizes, and executes events/activities to promote a sense of community, skate night, park meetups

EQUITY COMMITTEE
We view School Council activities through an equitable lens. The team hosts community-building events and activities such as our Free Store, hosting speakers and workshops, and connecting with staff on activities inside and outside the classroom.

GREEN COMMITTEE
We plan and maintain the gardens at Bruce PS, including our new heart garden and the Valerie Mah Pollination Station, both on Larchmount Ave. Events may include community outreach in the fall and a clean up and/or planting day in the
spring. The committee would also like to explore ways to start environmental initiatives at Bruce.

We handle outgoing communication from School Council. Team members help streamline and centralize messaging across our website, socials, newsletter, flyers, and more!
